Invisalign

Hoag & Dotsch is a Certified Invisalign Provider

We are thrilled to be Invisalign Certified Dentists so that we can offer you this amazing technology. With a series of clear, virtually invisible custom-molded aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth without traditional, clunky metal braces.

The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile. And with 3-D computer imaging, you’ll see your complete treatment in advance.

Clear, Comfortable and less Costly.

An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about a year and typically costs less than traditional braces. You'll see us every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At regular intervals, you'll receive a new set of custom-molded clear aligners to continue the straightening process. The total number of clear aligners is specific to you, determined by your course of treatment.

Invisalign is the clear alternative to metal braces.

Since Invisalign is practically invisible, very few people will notice at all — unless you tell them. They’re comfortable to wear and remove easily when you eat. Most importantly, you’ll find that you can stay on top of your dental hygiene, brushing and flossing normally. You'll begin to notice results sooner than you think. So come in for a consultation and we’ll determine if Invisalign is right for you.

All-Porcelain Crowns/All-Ceramic Crowns

The most beautiful crown for a tooth is, without question, an all-porcelain or all-ceramic crown. With porcelain fused to metal crowns, there has to be an opaque layer put over the metal to block out its color. This makes it impossible to have a translucent crown that mimics the translucency of natural teeth. Only with pure porcelain or pure ceramic can you have such translucency.

The reason all dentists don't use all-porcelain crowns for front teeth is that the technique for placing them is very demanding and isn't generally taught in dental schools. General dentists aren't usually skilled at color manipulation in these situations. Also, placing them requires the use of sophisticated bonding techniques that aren't fully taught in dental schools. At Hoag & Dotsch, we have completed the extra training necessary to be able to offer this exceptional service for our patients.

Veneers

If you have misshapen or stained teeth or unattractive gaps, veneers may be the perfect answer for you. Veneers are thin, custom-made porcelain moldings that cover only the fronts of your teeth. Your original tooth is reshaped to allow for the added thickness of the veneer and a molded image is taken. A dental artist/technician then sculpts the high-tech material and the dentist adheres the veneer to your tooth much like a brand new enamel. Veneers are beautifully natural, stain-resistant and restore the beauty of your ultimate smile.

Whitening

We offer the latest take-home whitening system that allows you to achieve your desired results in your home, at your pace, while you sleep. Convenient and effective, you’ll have a brighter smile in less than two weeks, with less tooth sensitivity and longer-lasting results than other in-office whitening processes. What a great way to upgrade your appearance!

To care for you more effectively, we use an intra-oral camera and digital photography to produce pictures which provide you the opportunity to view areas of concern. Seeing what we see allows you to make informed decisions about your dental health choices.

Laser Cavity Detection

Perhaps the most annoying part of your dental exam is the use of the picking tool for the detection of cavities. We now have the latest revolutionary technology that allows us to detect cavities just by shining a laser light on the tooth –before they even show up in x-rays. We can fix them before the tooth structure is damaged, making your appointments easier and faster.

Composite (Tooth-Colored) Fillings

Many people had amalgam fillings (silver) or gold filling restorations in the past. Most amalgam fillings contained mercury. Metal fillings were effective, but very conspicuous and tended to blacken in color and leak over time. Tooth-colored fillings, or composite resin dental fillings were created as an improvement to traditional metal mercury dental fillings. They require less removal of healthy tooth structure, providing a more conservative option than silver mercury fillings.

Composite tooth colored fillings are made of a resin filled with microscopic porcelain particles. The strength of current composites is similar to the strength of silver mercury fillings. The advantage of a composite filling is that it is bonded to the tooth. Research has shown that a well-sealed composite filling can restore the strength of a decayed tooth almost to the level of an unfilled tooth and will last as least as long as a silver mercury filling, if not longer. A composite restoration can take twice as long to place as silver mercury filling, so they are usually more costly in the short run. However, they may also prevent a tooth from fracturing, which saves time and money in the long run.

Crowns

Sometimes we may prescribe crowns to restore a tooth that has fractured or is likely to fracture, due to extensive decay, large fillings or heavy wear. Fabricated from porcelain, porcelain/metal blends, and zirconium/porcelain blends (the same material used in artificial hips!), they are as strong as an unrestored tooth. Our crowns are crafted with the highest level of artistry using the latest technology to ensure a natural feel and appearance.

Implants

If you are missing one or more teeth, you may be aware how difficult it can be to chew, speak and even smile. When teeth are missing, they may cause your mouth to shift and your face to look older. Fortunately, missing teeth can be replaced and dental implants are an excellent option. A dental implant is much like a natural tooth, which has a root in your jawbone, topped by a crown that you can see. The implant itself acts like the root of a tooth, with your bone fusing to it to make it permanent. Then, the dentist designs a crown that fits to the implant.

Implants can also be used to anchor dentures, and are especially effective for lower dentures that tend to move when you eat and speak. Our patients have been amazed at the results of this incredible technology that gives them back what has been lost. And if you wear removable partial dentures, we can replace them with permanent implant teeth so that you‘ll be able to eat all your favorite foods and have a more natural-looking smile.
